What a great hobby coin roll hunting is! It allows us to accumulate circulated coins that are worth significantly more in their metal value than their face value, yet only pay the face value price for them. While it is no get rich quick scheme (or low for that matter), it is certainly a wonderful hobby that offers us the ability to seek a potential profit down the road, acquire an asset with a good chance of keeping pace with inflation and having a lot of fun along the way.
We are continuing to push towards our 100 pounds of 99.9% nickel bullion for the year by coin roll hunting through our 40th $100 nickel box. Although it is still too early to say definitely, we are confident that our current pace will be sufficient to reach this goal. Here are the results from this week's box:
$100 Nickel Box #40
-85 99.9% nickel nickels (4.25%)
-13 pre-1963 Canadian nickels
-0 pre-1960 American nickels
We are very happy with the amount of older Canadian coins that we have been finding recently. The majority of the pre-1963 Canadian coins that we are finding are the 12-sided variety that standout from the rest. Finding these coins makes coin roll hunting even more of a thrill and continues to bring us back week-to-week. Let us know how you are doing with your finds this month in the comment section below.
Enjoying your blog and learning a lot about what coins to keep my eye out for. I currently work in a Bank and am holder of the Branch Coin supply so am fortunate to get a lot of coin to look through. It's a lot of fun ...... thanks for the work you've done on this blog, your information and videos are extremely informative. One day soon I'll total up what I have, mainly Nickels and some silver Quarters and compare them to what you guys have. Keep up the great work.
